Tomy Drissi Back in the No. 26 Straight Outta Compton Toyota at Mid-Ohio

Road racing Champion, Tomy Drissi, will be back in action this weekend, driving the #26 JGL Racing Toyota Camry in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Children’s Hospital 200 at the legendary Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

Tomy will rejoin JGL Racing with the Toyota Camry carrying the livery for Universal Picture’s new release, Straight Outta Compton, the story of iconic recording group, NWA.  Coming off a solid run at Watkins Glen, the team is focused and ready to push the Straight Outta Compton Toyota to the front.

Nationwide Children's Hospital is the beneficiary for the third year of the NASCAR Xfinity Series event held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course August 15, 2015. Ten patients and their families get to spend the day with some of the biggest names in NASCAR.

“This is a fantastic event,” noted Tomy. “Lacy Drissi and I recently became parents to twins, so it’s extra meaningful to be here and help out with such a worthy cause. This one hits close to home.”

“We had a good week at Watkins Glen,” Tomy continued. “I’m really looking forward to climbing back into the JGL Racing Toyota. We struggled a bit … but I think we’ve got things worked at. Plus, I had a really good run here with the JGL guys last year… we finished 19th. And, this is such a great place to be racing. Plus I’m really excited to bring Universal Pictures to Mid-Ohio and promote the movie, Straight Outta Compton.”

Straight Outta Compton

Following the meteoric rise and fall of N.W.A., Straight Outta Compton tells the astonishing story of how they revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war. Entrenched in the racial tumult of Los Angeles in the mid-1980's, a group of aspiring rappers banded together to revolutionize the global consumption of hip-hop and popular culture. NWA was born out of racial frustration and the disadvantaged economics of their South Central neighborhood. F. Gary Gray directs this biopic about the rise to stardom for the act that earned the moniker of "The World's Most Dangerous Group", featuring Ice Cube's son O'Shea Jackson Jr. playing the role of his father, Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre, and Jason Mitchell as the late Eazy-E.

Tomy Drissi is an American driver and Trans Am Champion.
