Tomy Drissi will head to round 3 of the Pirelli World Challenge with an extra dose of confidence driving the LG Motorsports prepared No.4 EPIC (the movie in theaters May 24) Corvette. Drissi has had considerable success on the infamous street course, earning his first professional victory at the 2000 Trans Am Series race, and more recently finishing second at the 2011 American Le Mans Series race.
Tomy Drissi:
“It’s great participating in the Long Beach Grand Prix. The southern California fans love their racing and they love Long Beach.
“We had some teething problems with the set up on the No. 4 EPIC Corvette in St. Petersberg, but I’m confident the LG guys will have the car up to snuff for the weekend.
“I like driving the Corvette and in some ways, it is similar to my old Trans Am cars. One thing is for sure, if we can qualify well, we can get this car to the front.
“For me there’s the added benefit of sleeping in my own bed. But on a serious note, I love this track and the 50 minute race format means it’s a flat out sprint…. just the way I like it!”
Known for his Hollywood advertising company, Tomy’s car livery features a new movie at each World Challenge event. This week won’t be any different as the powerful C6 Corvette will roll off the trailer featuring the upcoming movie, EPIC.
