Lexington, OH (June 30, 2021) – Lucas SlickMist Driver Tomy Drissi is celebrating after locking his fourth consecutive podium at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this past weekend. The second place finish was not without its drama as the former champion led the field with a ball of flames exiting the rear of the car for the first few laps after qualifying on pole of Round 5 of the Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli.

“The car was fast and we were able to pull away so there was no way I was going to pull off the track as long as it remained safe and we weren’t leaking anything. It paid off and we were lucky the problem corrected itself. We would have held onto the lead but we got tangled up in some lap traffic with Dyson and I had to choose between risking hitting someone or backing off to let Dyson take the lead. Dyson was right there the whole time and he was able to take the position. It was a great battle and I felt the pressure once he got by Simon Gregg. He and his team did a good job. It was great seeing a front row lockout for team Burtin with both cars up front.” said Drissi. “I can’t thank Lucas Oil SlickMist and Burtin Racing enough for all the support and making this all possible. I know the guys have been putting in some overtime to see that the car is ready for Road America this week.”

Heading into Round 6 at Road America, Drissi is just 12 points off the leader for the 2021 championship.
