Tomy Drissi Taking Alvin and the Chipmunks for a Wild Ride at Infineon Raceway

SCCA Pro Racing’s Pirelli World Challenge Series is at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma California this weekend for the running of Round’s 9 and 10 in the Championship. Tomy Drissi will drive the No. 47 Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked / Muscle Milk Porsche for TruSpeed Motorsports.

With practice time at a premium, Drissi has been pleased with the Porsche right off the transporter. He was third fastest in Thursday’s practice and sixth overall on Friday.

“I’m extremely pleased with my progress since making the change to TruSpeed,” said Tomy. “We kind of hit a plateau before the summer break. We’re back to making progress again… and I’m extremely impressed with the equipment and TruSpeed’s preparation. I think any driver on the team could jump in any of the cars and know he has the opportunity to showcase his individual talent.”

“We’ve made a few adjustments to the car and I think we’ll be good for Saturday’s qualifying,” Tomy added. “We’ll go out with fresh tires… I think that coupled with the cooler temperatures should give me a little extra grip and the ability to drive the car into the corners a little bit harder.. Even if we run where we were today, we’ll still be in great shape.”

The Pirelli World Challenge returns to the track on Saturday morning at 8:55 a.m. (PDT) for qualifying. Saturday’s Pirelli World Challenge Round Nine race is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. (PDT).
