Tomy kicked off his American Le Mans Series 2013 Championship run this weekend joining BAR1 Motorsports in the No. 7 G.I. Joe Prototype Challenge car at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Fla. This is the 61st running of the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida. BAR1 is fielding wo ORECA Prototype Challenge cars. Tomy and Rusty Mitchell will campaign the No. 7 car in G.I. Joe Retaliation livery.
Tomy Drissi and Team Sahlen had their hands full for the 60th anniversary running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Tomy teamed up with Bruno Junqiera, Joe Sahlen, Joe Nonnamaker and Will Nonamaker in #43 Sahlen BMW-Riley featuring the upcoming Bruce Willis movie, A Good Day To Die Hard, opening February 14th.
Tomy Drissi enjoyed his weekend being among the first drivers to race at Austin’s Circuit of The AmericasTM. Circuit of the Americas is the United States’ first purpose-built Grand Prix track and entertainment facility. As part of the United States Grand Prix Formula One weekend, Drissi raced the Good Day To Die Hard TruSpeed Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in Sunday morning’s 10 Lap Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA West race.
Tomy Drissi teamed up with Bruno Junquiera and Ricardo Vera to pilot the RSR No. 9 A Good Day To Die Hard Oreca PC prototype and drove to a second place finish in the 15th running of Petit Le Mans Powered by Mazda at Road Atlanta, the final race of the 2012 American Le Mans Series presented by Patrón championship season. Teammate Bruno Junquiera finished third in the drivers Championship and the RSR team, in their first year running prototypes, finished second in the Team Championship.
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón held its first official race at Virginia International Raceway last week, the VIR 240. Tomy Drissi was pleased with his performance in the No. 9 RSR Taken 2 Prototype Challenge car and with that of his co-driver, Bruno Junquiera.
Tomy Drissi and Bruno Junquiera muscled the No. 9 Taken 2 team RSR Oreca Prototype Challenge car through the streets of Baltimore to take second place in class for this weeks American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón Baltimore Sports Car Challenge presented by SRT.
While they weren’t able to repeat their Canadian Tire Motorsports Park victory, Tomy Drissi and Bruno Junquiera fought hard pushing the No. 9 RSR Dog Days Diary of a Wimpy Kid LMPC car to a 4th place finish at the American Le Mans presented by Tequila Patron Mid-Ohio Sports Car Championships at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
Executing their race strategy to the letter, Tomy Drissi and Bruno Junqueira drove the No. 9 RSR “The Watch” LMPC Oreca prototype to the top step of the podium at Canadian Tire Motorsport Part in Sunday’s American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron, Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport. Drissi started the car from the third place on the grid. Short of a restart penalty, Tomy turned in a perfect stint, setting up Bruno for the long stretch to the finish.
It was a rough and tumble race on the 1.53 mile Lime Rock Park bull ring for the 2012 American Le Mans Series presented by Patron Northeast Grand Prix. As expected, traffic was tight and drivers were impatient. It was impatience – someone else’s – that took away the No. 9 RSR Ice Age 3 / Continental Drift LMPC car’s chances for a win.
Tomy put together a solid first outing for his Sprint Cup debut at Sonoma Raceway, in Sonoma, California. Unfortunately, his day would end early when the No. 10 Ice Age 3 / Continental Drift, Tomy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet made contact with the wall on lap 83. The incident was the first caution of the 110 lap event and set the stage for a classic road course battle to the end. Ultimately, Clint Boyer went on to win.
The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix returned to the Motor City featuring the cars of the IZOD IndyCar Series, the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, the Firestone Indy Lights Series and the Pirelli World Challenge Championship Series. The schedule called for two rounds at the Detroit stop for the Pirelli World Challenge Championships. With wet practice sessions and two cautioned filled races, Tomy Drissi did his best to move his TruSpeed Abraham Lincoln Vamper Hunter Porsche through the single file field. In the final west coast visit of the American Le Mans Series’ for 2012, RSR drivers Tomy Drissi, Bruno Junquiera and Roberto Gonzalez prevailed in the six hour battle to put the #9 Prometheus LMPC on the second step of the podium. In addition, the team took fourth overall on the winding curves and elevations of the 2.238-mile Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
On a weekend where the weather took its toll on the already abbreviated schedule, Tomy Drissi made the most of his time in the #47 TruSpeed 3 Stooges Porsche GT3 for round 3 of the Pirelli World Challenge Series at the 2012 Long Beach Grand Prix.

Good start for Tomy’s World Challenge weekend in St. Pete. After qualifying 10th for round 1 (two seconds faster than practice) Tomy ran down the field and pulled down a top-5 finish. Sunday’s round two was not as kind… after starting 9th, Tomy retired early with what appeared to be transmission problems. On to Long Beach where he’ll do double duty in World Challenge and with RSR in his American Le Mans Series LMPC car.
Teammates Tomy Drissi, Bruno Junqueira and Roberto Gonzalez survived a rough and tumble running of Saturday’s 60th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. Starting from the LMPC pole at the American Le Mans Series sponsored by Tequila Patrón season opener, the #9 RSR Prometheus 6.08.12 dominated the LMPC division in the early going, leading and setting fast laps for the class.
Tomy Drissi, rebounding from a scary impact at Laguna Seca two weeks ago, drove the #47 The Sitter / Muscle Milk / TruSpeed Porsche, to claim a 9th place finish at the 14th Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta and the final round for the Pirelli World Challenge GT Championship.
Fighting back from a devastating crash in practice, winning the class pole then being put to the back of the grid on race day, it was almost a Cinderella story for Tomy Drissi, Kyle Marcelli and Chapman Ducote as Marcelli piloted the #89 Intersport Racing The Sitter / Muscle Milk / Merchant Services / Lafarge / DynaPep LMPC to a second place finish at Petit Le Mans.
After a tough qualifying session, TruSpeed’s crew made all the right adjustments to the No. 47 The Sitter / Muscle Milk Porsche GT3 and handed Tomy Drissi a podium contending car. Unfortunately, Tomy’s day was cut short when his Porsche made contact with the turn four wall.
The shuffle in the Intersport team’s driver line up didn’t fair well for Tomy Drissi in No. 37 Intersport Racing / The Sitter / Muscle Milk LMPC car in Saturday’s ModSpace American Le Mans Monterey at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. The Trans Am Champion has become accustomed to sharing to podium finishes with team mate Kyle Marcelli this year. The two hope they are back together for Petit Le Mans.
It was a near-perfect run for Tomy Drissi and Kyle Marcelli in the No. 37 Intersport Racing Alvin and the Chipmumks: Chipwrecked / Muscle Milk / Lafarge / DynaPep LMPC car as they dominated their class taking the top spot on the podium and third overall at the American Le Mans Series Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix.
Not satisfied with Saturday’s Round 9 7th place finish, Tomy Drissi, driving the No. 47 Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked / Muscle Milk Porsche for TruSpeed Motorsports, vowed to do better in Sunday’s Round 10 of the Pirelli World Challenge Series at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma California. He lived up to that promise. Starting 8th on the grid, Tomy ran with the front pack for the entire 50 minute race, scrapping it out in the final laps with Cadillac driver Johnny O’Connell and ending the weekend with a top-5 finish.
Tomy Drissi, driving the No. 47 Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked / Muscle Milk Porsche for TruSpeed Motorsports, battled through SCCA Pro Racing’s Pirelli World Challenge Series Round 9 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma California today. Starting 5th, Tomy went wheel-to-wheel for the entire 50 minute event, eventually finishing 7th.
With a full slate of racing on his plate, Trans-Am ChampionTomy Drissi sees his Mid-Ohio weekend as a fantastic success. Running two races in World Challenge then running and winning in the American Le Mans Series LMPC division, the No. 47 IN TIME / Muscle Milk TruSpeed Porsche GT3 was exactly what Tomy had hoped for as he grows is World Challenge Series program.
Driving the No. 89 Intersport Racing In Time / Muscle Milk LMPC car was only one race in Tomy Drissi’s weekend triple header at Mid-Ohio. But for Tomy and co-driver Kyle Marcelli it was the biggest. The win is the third consecutive American Le Mans Series LMPC podium Tomy and Kyle have combined for.

Tomy Drissi finished 8th today driving the No. 5 Kung Fu Panda 2 / Muscle Milk Porsche GT3 in the Pirelli World Challenge Series’ round 5 at Mosport International Raceway in Bowemanville, Ontario. After qualifying 10th for the start of today’s race, Tomy pushed his 2008 Porsche GT3 to its limit maintaining lap times within less than .5 seconds of the leaders.
Starting from the 9th spot on the grid, Tomy Drissi drove his No. 5 X-Men: First Class / Muscle Milk Porsche GT3 to a 7th place finish in Saturday’s Pirelli World Challenge Series race at Miller Motorsports Park for the Grand Prix of Utah.

Driving the No. 5 RIO in Theaters April 8 / Muscle Milk Porsche GT3, Tomy was able to improve on his Saturday 12th place finish taking the checkered flag in 10th.
Tomy Drissi kicked off his World Challenge Series Championship run with round one of this weekend’s Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg driving the No. Muscle Milk Porsche GT3. Tomy’s Porsche carried the colors of Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Roderick Rules in Theaters March 25 for the Series opener.
Tomy Drissi started Saturday’s 59th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida driving the Intersport Racing No. 089 LMPC car sponsored by X-Men: First Class – in theaters 6.3.11. with great expectations. The team had worked hard finding speed and balance for the car while juggling the task of getting all three co-drivers comfortable in the car. Joined in the No. 089 Intersport LMPC car by Kyle Marcelli and Rusty Mitchell, the 59th 12 Hours of Sebring marked Tomy’s first outing behind the wheel of the new LMPC class of cars.
