August 29, 2012

SRT. The eighth round of the American Le Mans Series championship is 2-hour charge through the city’s Inner Harbor district.

Featuring the Taken 2 In Theaters October 5th on their ORECA LMPC car, Tomy and Bruno look forward to the two hour sprint through the streets. Tomy won the inaugural running of the Baltimore Grand Prix and is excited at the opportunity to continue his winning ways.

“This is a great event, but the track can be tough” noted Drissi. “I did well here last year, so obviously I’m looking to repeat. I’m confident in RSR’s ability to get the car set up and I know I can count on Bruno to be fast. I think with the right race strategy and a clean run we’ll be on the podium at the end.”

Given the success of last year’s event, Tomy is looking forward to getting back to the city of Baltimore. The 2011 crowds were incredibly enthusiastic.

“We had a ball here last year,” added Tomy. “The crowds were amazing. We were caught totally off-guard at the intensity of the fans and their knowledge of sports car racing. When you have fans like we had in Baltimore, it makes the weekend a lot more fun. I can’t wait.”

The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón is the world`s leading sports car championship and is recognized as the Global Leader in Green Racing. In the tradition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, multiple classes of cars – purpose-built prototypes and production-based Grand Touring automobiles – race on the track at the same time to create compelling race action and constant passing. All cars in the Series compete using one of five approved alternative fuels or energy sources: clean sulfur-free diesel, cellulosic E85 or E10, Isobutanol and electric hybrid technologies. The Series has more automobile marques involved than any other major race series in the world as manufacturers develop relevant technologies on track that transfer directly to the customer showroom. The ALMS competes at North America`s premier road racing tracks and selected temporary street circuits in major urban markets.
