Tomy Driss has his sights set on Saturday’s podium when the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón takes to the streets of Long Beach for the 2013 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Driving the BAR1 Motorsports No. 7 EPIC (the movie in theaters May 24) Prototype Challenge car, Tomy hopes is hometown edge will continue. Long Beach was the track where Tomy took his first professional racing win and a track that has brought success on several other occasions. Most recently Tomy finished second on the podium in 2011 co-driving the Intersport Racing Prototype Challenge car with team mate Kyle Marcelli.

“I can say enough about racing in Long Beach. It’s so great to be racing in front of my hometown [Los Angeles] crowd.
“I’ve had a lot of personal success here. While it’s hard not to be excited about your first professional win, the drive Kyle and I had in 2011 was just like the movie we’re promoting this weekend, EPIC!
“We’ve really got a great program behind our ALMS effort this year. BAR1 Motorsports is giving us exactly what we need to win races. My co-driver, Rusty Mitchell, and I have a great working relationship and both share excellent communications with our BAR1 crew. I’m expecting a banner weekend.”
Known for his Hollywood advertising company, Tomy’s car livery features a new movie at each ALMS event. This week will be no different as the No. 7 prototype machine will roll off the trailer featuring the upcoming movie, EPIC.

The Tequila Patrón Long Beach Grand Prix will run April 19-20. The television broadcast will air April 21 at 1:00 p.m. EDT on ABC. Live streaming of the race will be on April 20 starting at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN3.com with live streaming qualifying running April 19 at 89 p.m. EDT on ESPN3.com.
Tomy Drissi is an American driver and Trans Am Champion. His driver experience includes ALMS, Trans-Am, NASCAR and Speed World Challenge.
Born December 9 in Hollywood, California, Tomy owns an advertising firm that produces upcoming film displays for cinemas. Drissi’s first racing experience in motorsports was street racing on Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills.
His professional racing career highlights include; 1999 Trans-Am Rookie of the Year, 2000 Trans-Am BBS Most Improved Driver, 2000 Trans-Am Crew of the Year and Trans-Am Champion. In 2010 Tomy competed in Trans-Am taking 1 win, 1 pole, 3 podiums, 4 Top Fives, 7 Top Tens; He also competed in the American Le Mans Series LMP1 class at Mid-Ohio finishing 3rd. 2011 saw Tomy’s return to the American Le Mans Series, LMPC division. He scored a 2nd at Long Beach, 3rd at Lime Rock, 1st at Mid Ohio,1st at Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix and second at Road Atlanta -Petit Le Mans. In 2012, Drissi teamed with Bruno Junqiera for finishing 2nd at Laguna Seca, a win at Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park), 2nd at Baltimore and second at the season finale, Petit Lemans.
