2009 Trans Am championTomy Drissi will team up with Bruno Junqueira in the BAR1 Motorsporst No. 26 “War for the Planet of the Apes” car, when the team descends upon Belle Isle for the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic, June 3rd., part of the prestigious Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear weekend.
Tomy will also compete in Saturday’s TransAm Series Motor City 100.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back into the Prototype with Bruno,” said Tomy. “We communicate well, we’ve won together, and Bruno is always quick.”
“Plus I love coming to Detroit,” added Tomy. “Everyone here is totally into the cars and the racing. It’s a challenging track and the fans appreciate it. Everywhere we go, fans come up to us and it makes the whole weekend a party. We always get called out for the movie we feature on the car, so I know they’re going to love that we’re promoting War for the Planet of the Apes.
In theaters July 14, Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson). The WeatherTech Championship Prototype, Prototype Challenge and GT Daytona classes compete in the 100-minute race on the Raceway at Belle Isle Park, a challenging 2.3-mile temporary street circuit. The race will be televised live on FS2, beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 3. It will also be streamed live on the FOX Sports GO app with FS2 authentication.
The Chevrolet Sports Car Classic begins with live coverage on FS2 and the FOX Sports GO app at 12:30 p.m. Live in-car camears, timing and scoring and IMSA Radio will be streamed on IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app. Action begins with a 30-minute warm-up session at 8 a.m.

• 2012, Drissi teamed with Bruno Junqiera for finishing 2nd at Laguna Seca, a win at Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park), 2nd at Baltimore and second at the season finale, Petit Lemans.
• 2013 NASCAR CUP/Nationwide. Best result at Mid Ohio starting 38th and finishing 19th.
• 2014 IMSA LMPC at Daytona 3rd.
