Kicking off his 2016 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with a splash, Tomy Drissi will join BAR1 Motorsports and bring Paramount Picture’s Zoolander No. 2 in Theaters February 12 to the historic once around the clock shootout, the 54th Rolex 24 at Daytona. Over 50 cars will take the challenge to see who can best manage the 24 hour chaos and win the race to the checkered flag Sunday afternoon.
Zoolander No. 2 is an upcoming 2016 American comedy film directed by Ben Stiller and written by Justin Theroux, Stiller, Nicholas Stoller and John Hamburg. It is the sequel to the 2001 film Zoolander and stars Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Penélope Cruz, Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen. When the world’s most beautiful musical celebrities are systematically assassinated with formerly famous male model Derek Zoolander’s iconic “Blue Steel” look on their face, Interpol recruits Derek and his friend Hansel McDonald to infiltrate a new and different world of high fashion in order to put a stop to it. Meanwhile, Derek’s rival Jacobim Mugatu is set free and is seeking revenge.
“I’m really looking forward to this year’s Rolex 24,” said Tomy. “My sponsor, Paramount Pictures, has put Zoolander No. 2 coming Feb 12th. on the car and it looks great. People probably remember how great the original movie was… Zoolander 2 continues the tradition. We’re going to have a lot of fun with it.”
“The last two years at Daytona have been very good for me (3rd. and 2nd.),” added Tomy. “The BAR1 guys have done a great job. I was in touch during this years testing and all the drivers indicated the cars were great. Building on last year’s setups really gives us a head start. It would be really good to hit that podium and land on the top step … I want ‘the watch!’ I really want that watch! I People say just finishing this race is an accomplishment ……. but I really want that watch!”
Tomy will be back racing with ace pilot Johnny Mowlem, along with Marc Drumwright, Ricardo Vera and NASCAR driver, Brendan Gaughan.

His driver experience includes ALMS, Trans-Am, NASCAR and Speed World Challenge.
Born December 9 in Hollywood, California, Tomy owns an advertising firm that produces upcoming film displays for cinemas.
Drissi’s first racing experience in motorsports was street racing on Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills.

• 2012, Drissi teamed with Bruno Junqiera for finishing 2nd at Laguna Seca, a win at Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park), 2nd at Baltimore and second at the season finale, Petit Lemans.
• 2013 NASCAR CUP/Nationwide. Best result at Mid Ohio starting 38th and finishing 19th.
• 2014 IMSA LMPC at Daytona 3rd.
