Tomy Driss Brings “Good Day To Die Hard” Porsche to Circuit of the Americas

Tomy Drissi will be among the world’s first drivers to race at Austin’s Circuit of The AmericasTM. Circuit of the Americas is the United States’ first purpose-built Grand Prix track and entertainment facility. On November 16-18, Drissi will race the Good Day To Die Hard Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in Sunday morning’s Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA West race. The entry, run in conjunction by TruSpeed Motorsports, will be one of an expected 30-car field for the 10-lap/25-minute sprint race.

While the 3.427-mile, 20-turn circuit, designed by veteran F1 architect Hermann Tilke, will be a new experience for everyone, it will provide Drissi with valuable knowledge of the new track prior to the first American Le Mans Series race scheduled as a double-header weekend with the FIA World Endurance Championship on Sept. 20-22, 2013.

“The Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA race will be a great opportunity to drive on this unique, world-class facility,” said Tomy. “Its an honor to be part of the weekend and run with other talented drivers at the inaugural even. It’s also a great opportunity to introduce more race fans to Fox and our movie themed cars as part the TruSpeed Motorsports team.”

  • Friday, Nov. 16th: Practice at 4:15 pm
  • Saturday, Nov. 17th: Qualifying at 2:30 pm
  • Sunday, Nov.18th: Race at 9:30 am

Tomy Drissi is an American driver and Trans Am Champion.

His driver experience includes ALMS, Trans-Am, NASCAR and Speed World Challenge.

Born December 9 in Hollywood, California, Tomy owns an advertising firm that produces upcoming film displays for cinemas. Drissi’s first racing experience in motorsports was street racing on Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills.

His professional racing career highlights include; 1999 Trans-Am Rookie of the Year, 2000 Trans-Am BBS Most Improved Driver, 2000 Trans-Am Crew of the Year and Trans-Am Champion. In 2010 Tomy competed in Trans-Am taking 1 win, 1 pole, 3 podiums, 4 Top Fives, 7 Top Tens; He also competed in the American Le Mans Series LMP1 class at Mid-Ohio finishing 3rd. In 2011 Tomy returned to the American Le Mans Series, LMPC division. He scored a 2nd at Long Beach, 3rd at Lime Rock, 1st at Mid Ohio,1st at Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix and second at Road Atlanta -Petit Le Mans.

Tomy is married to Lacy Livingston Drissi.
