It was an excellent outing for Tomy Drissi and the JGL Racing, running the No. 93 The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 3D in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at the Glen, August 9th. Tomy, driving the No. 93 JGL Dodge Challenger battled hard all day bringing the car home in 20th position.
“What a great weekend,” said Tomy. “We started at the back and fought our way up to 20th. And I do mean fought. We had to fight for every inch. As a driver, it was very satisfying to work that hard and see it pay off.”
“I still have a lot to learn about these cars,” added Tomy. “They’re so much fun to drive… but man, these guys are good. JGL might be a small team, but they have proven they can beat some of the bigger teams and they’re going to continue to get better every week. I was happy to deliver them a top-20 finish and I think we’ve got more in store for Mid-Ohio. We’ll get better.”
Tomy, a Trans Am Champion and accomplished road racing driver, continues to make his presence known on the stock car circuits. He has become a “go-to” driver when the series hits the road courses. Tomy is excited to participate with JGL and to drive with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle livery on his No. 93 JGL Dodge Challenger.
“The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Dodge Challenger was a huge hit with the fans,” said Tomy. “Everyone had a ball with the theme. The Series got behind it and even the TV guys had a some fun with us. They had TV announcer Hermie Sadler running around in a Turtles’ mask and some Ninja nunchucks. NASCAR knows how to put on a show, that’s for sure.”
Next up for Tomy and the JGL No. 93 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Doge is the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at the legendary Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington Ohio.
