Tomy Drissi, Road America, No. 8 Camaro PREDATOR! ’Nuff Said…

August 22, 2018
Trans Am Champion, Tomy Drissi, driving the No. 8 Burtin Racing Camaro, will descend on Road America, August 23-25, representing the exciting new blockbuster movie Predator. From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. The universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
“I’m really excited having the PREDATOR on board for Road America,” said Tomy. “Fans are going to love what we’ve done with the livery on the No. 8 Camaro. We’re looking for a big comeback after our struggle at Mid-Ohio. Road America is the perfect track and the No. 8 Predator Camaro is just the car to do it.”
“Any driver will tell you, Road America is a dream sports car track,” added Tomy. It’s fast it’s technical and there’s plenty of room to race and stretch your legs. I know the Burtin boys will have a great car under us. I’m ready to go racing!”

Tough Day for Drissi at Mid-Ohio for Pirelli Trans Am First Energy 100
“Just a tough day out there,” noted a disappointed Drissi. “The clutch was misbehaving right from the start. We fought back and settled in running 5th, just behind Boris. Unfortunately, the lead group were off and running. Our times were as good if not better… but there was just a lot of ground to make up.”
Another full course caution came out on lap 24. Caught up in lapped traffic, Tomy found himself in 9th place again.
“I knew there was plenty of time left,” said Tomy, “so I just kept my head down and was able to work my way back up to 5th. By lap 34 though, I knew we were in trouble. Clutch problems forced us to park and end our day early. It was really too bad… we definitely had a podium car.”
“I really have to thank Burtin Racing and the GoShare folks,” added Tomy. “The Burtin crew had us dialed in right off the trailer. We’ll be back in the hunt at Road America and the No. 8 Predator Camaro will be out there setting the pace. Count on it!”
Be sure and catch Tomy and the Burtin Racing No. 8 Predator Camaro at the Ryan Companies Road America Classic at Road America in Wisconsin, August 23-25. Legendary Road America is a four-mile, 14 turn road course that has been challenging the worlds best drivers for over 60 years.
Trans Am testing will get underway Thursday, August 23 and the TA cars will qualify Friday, August 24. The flag will go green for the main event, Saturday at 11:10AM EST.
