Tomy Drissi Wraps Up His Week at Sonoma

June 26, 2013

Tomy Drissi, driving the No. 87 The Wolverine NENCO-JRR Toyota, finished 38th in The Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on June 23, 2013.

Tomy commented after the race how proud he was to be involved with NEMCO-JRR and the efforts put forth by the team.

“I really want to give a shout out to the team for all their hard work. We had a good car and these guys worked hard all week getting it better.

“It was really tough getting a handle on the setup. On race day, we got the car working well… but the handle would go away after about 6 laps. On a road course, that puts you out of the fight pretty quick. I don’t think I ever really got comfortable to where we could get aggressive. It was especially tough in traffic.

“I especially want to thank “Front Row Joe”, Jay Robinson, Tom Legeman and the #87 Team for the giving me the chance to participate in this race. I’ve always enjoyed running at Sonoma.. and we were pleased to get The Wolverine movie in front of the fans. It was a fun weekend.”

Tomy will resume his regular American Le Mans Series drive with BAR1 Motorsports at Limerock Park for the Northeast Grand Prix presented by Tequila Patron, Saturday July 6th. Tomy will join co-driver Rusty Mitchell in the No. 7 The Wolverine Prototype Challenge car.
