It’s a full slate for Tomy Drissi as he heads to the Monterey Peninsula and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for this weekend’s ModSpace American Le Mans Monterey Presented by Tequila Patron and Round 11 of the Pirelli World Challenge.
Currently the most winning driver combination in the LMPC class, Intersport has chosen to break up the winning pairing of Kyle Marcelli and Tomy Drissi. With the duo coming off their most recent win at the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix, Drissi will join Ricardo Vera and Luca Moro in the No. 37 The Sitter / Muscle Milk LMPC, while Marcelli will hook up with the Ducote brothers, Chapman and David driving the Merchant Services / Lafarge / DynaPep car.
“I really like working and driving with Kyle,” said Tomy. “If the team thinks this is the best way to go and give Intersport more opportunities to get on the podium, I’m in! Ricardo is a great young driver. He’s mature beyond his years and I think we’ll do well.”
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has been recognized as a world-class sports car racing venue for more than 50 years. The ModSpace Monterey is one of the season favorites among teams and fans alike. On the American Le Mans side of things, Tomy will pair up with Ricardo Vera and Luca Moro to run six hours into the darkness driving the Intersport Racing No. 37 The Sitter / Muscle Milk LMPC car. If racing in the dark doesn’t get you excited, dropping the equivalent of five and a half stories through the downhill Corkscrew Turn will.
“I’ve got my hands full for the weekend,” added Tomy, “but I like it that way. I have a hard time sitting still unless I’ve got a steering wheel in my hands. And I love this track. I can’t get enough of it. It’s road racing the way it’s supposed to be… you’re always busy. The elevations changes, the high-speed corners… it’s a blast.”
Tomy will also compete in Round 11 of the Pirelli World Challenge Series driving the No. 47 TruSpeed / The Sitter / Muscle Milk Porsche GT3.
The ModSpace American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patrón will go green Sept. 16 at 1:30 PM (PT). The race will air on ESPN2 at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 17 and be carried live on ESPN3 beginning at 12:50 PM.

The Sitter In Theaters December 9th
When the world’s most irresponsible babysitter takes three of the world’s worst kids on an unforgettable overnight adventure through the streets of New York City, it’s anyone’s guess who’s going to make it home in one piece. The Sitter is a new level of twisted and debauched hilarity from the director of Pineapple Express, starring Jonah Hill.
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón is the world`s leading sports car championship and is recognized as the Global Leader in Green Racing. In the tradition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, multiple classes of cars – purpose-built prototypes and production-based Grand Touring automobiles – race on the track at the same time to create compelling race action and constant passing. All cars in the Series compete using one of five approved alternative fuels or energy sources: clean sulfur-free diesel, cellulosic E85 or E10, Isobutanol and electric hybrid technologies. The Series has more automobile marques involved than any other major race series in the world as manufacturers develop relevant technologies on track that transfer directly to the customer showroom. The ALMS competes at North America`s premier road racing tracks and selected temporary street circuits in major urban markets.
