Ready for the longest running major street race in North America, Tomy Drissi climb’s back behind the wheel of the BAR1 Motorsports Prototype along with Johnny Mowlem to take on the streets of Long Beach and the 2016 Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix. Carrying the livery for X Men: Apocalypse and Top 1 Oil, Tomy and Johnny have their eyes set on bettering their second place finish at Daytona with a win here in Long Beach.
2016 Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix takes place April 15th – 16th with live coverage at 7PM EST on Fox Sports FS2 with an encore airing at 12:30PM EST, April 17th on Fox Sports FS1.
Tomy’s success at Long Beach includes a win in Trans Am and podiums in IMSA prototypes. It’s a place Tomy loves to compete.
“This is truly a unique race,” noted Tomy Drissi. “The course is tight and it’s our shortest event of the season. You truly have the slimmest margin for error.. it’s a totally unforgiving challenge.”
“I’m thrilled to be back in the car with Johnny,” added Drissi. “We have a lot of fun together and we seem to get it right sorting out the car to suit us both. It’s great having this level of confidence in your teammate.”
“Of course, Long Beach is what I consider my home track,” Tomy continued. “I’m just up the road in Hollywood, so it’s nice having an opportunity to drive in front of friends, family and supporters. And, of course, this event comes with a huge party atmosphere. That makes it the perfect venue to unveil the X Men: Apocalypse car. The movie opens May 27, so we expect a lot of buzz and fan interest when they see the black carbon fiber prototype flying through the streets of Long Beach. I’m excited.”
In addition to his racing duties, Tomy will also be supporting the 2016 Walk the Cure Arthritis – Greater Los Angeles walk Saturday, May 14, Exposition Park – South Lawn. Tomy Drissi is an American driver and Trans Am Champion.
His driver experience includes ALMS, Trans-Am, NASCAR and Speed World Challenge.
Born December 9 in Hollywood, California, Tomy owns an advertising firm that produces upcoming film displays for cinemas.
Drissi’s first racing experience in motorsports was street racing on Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills.

• 2012, Drissi teamed with Bruno Junqiera for finishing 2nd at Laguna Seca, a win at Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park), 2nd at Baltimore and second at the season finale, Petit Lemans.
• 2013 NASCAR CUP/Nationwide. Best result at Mid Ohio starting 38th and finishing 19th.
